Road Trip Part 3
Today was another uneventful day, I wasted time in the morning, didnt have a proper lunch and no breakfast. Wasted the arvo and here I am now. I need to do some work to get a few things lined up. Anyway back to the Trip - Part 3
Day 3: 1st January
I awoke at 6 am again to see that I had received another SMS, this one was from india, I could tell by the international extension ( 91). I thought it was from one of my friends in india as there was no name. Later, as charles received it aswell, I realised it was from one of my friends here in sydney who had gone over there. She thought that most people would not have any relations in india and so realise it was here straight away!
After we had checked out of the cabin at 10:30, we had decided to go go-karting. It was inbetween Port Macquarie and Coffs Harbour. We drove there by about lunch time and so got some fluids into us and went out onto the track. It was the best fun I have ever had, in terms of entertainment. My hands were sore for 2 days after the experience. It is so good I want to do it again as soon as possible.
After the racing experience which literally left me shaking I played some mini golf, where I creamed Charles and Eugene. After that we went to coffs harbour, checked in and had a wander around the beaches until it became dark. Then we went looking for food and ended up at a cinemas. We had dinner as we had just missed a screening of Meet the Fockers. I had a Fettuccine with Mariana Sauce. I didnt like it cos it contained too much seafood but the restaurant was nice. We went to the movie after dinner. The movie was great. There was a nite club next to the cinemas and we thought that might have been open but it wasnt, so we just went back to the motel. We wanted to finish off the bottle of vodka (which was 2/3 full) which we did. We again played cards, had laughs and went to sleep.
Day 4: 2nd January
We checked out at 10:45, went to a beach and walked around for 90 mins. We did a bit of shopping until 12:30, thats when we left Coffs for Sydney. We got to Port Macquarie turn off at 2:45, had a bit of lunch and left by three. We then had another break near a own starting with Bud- ending in dalah. I remember this as this is when the traffic jam started. We got really bored in the traffic jam that we started playing games. The thing was most of the road was single laned but once in a while an overtaking lane would come. This would shake things up a bit and which lan would oyu choose the left or the right(we quickly found out the left lane was moving quicker). The choosing of the lanes and seeing which lane move faster became a race. We had a few cars which we kept seeing. There was HIP (which was named as that was its number plate), PUMP'N ( as it as a PUMP'N logo on the back windscreen), Evil Rav4 (as it didnt let us in back into the right lane when merging ), and Puppet Show ( as the kids where doing a puppet show in the back with their toys). The experienced PUMPN showed us the way by choosing the left lane. After that we never looked back and we kept going ahead and ahead. The fun ended when the RTA started blocking up the overtaking lanes. The first ones the blocked were using plastic markers, which some impatient drivers had knocked over and/or completely destroyed by running over them. We did our duty as citizens by getting out of the car and putting a SINGLE traffic cone back up right.
It took us 2 and a half hours to get through the jam which lasted 40 kms. After that we reached Newcastle by about 8 had a snack there had head to Sydney. We got to my suburb by 10 but the guys said we want dinner before we drop you so I didnt get home until about 11.
And thats the end.
